We had a GREAT time!!! Sad to say, Dance Camp 2008 is done! Thanks to all who helped. I can't remember all the names but we all know Jamie and Patty were the hands on the rudder.

Brian Jack and the Zydeco Gamblers - one of two bands at Dance Camp. Too Loose Cajun Band played also.
Jamie, I enjoyed the camp immensely -- great group of good natured, talented dancers. You and your lieutenants did a bang up job. Made my connection in Dallas after a late start out of Portland so I got home all right. Caught up with friends in Salem after a little sight-seeing and micro-brews with Deb. Have most of the limbs out of my back yard; now waiting for the water on the bottom land to go down so I can get at the other fallen trees. No damage to my home which never lost power.
Here are the step charts; hope they help folks remember which foot goes where. Let them know that I'll do phone consults to aid in deciphering.
They want everyone to know that they had a great time, and they have never
been treated so well. Even before the money pool and the ticket change. They
were very happy to be here. They said this is one of the best facilities that
they have had to stay in for festivals or camps and were very comfortable
even though we forgot to get them pillow cases.
Thanks to all of you for all of your hard work and time. We put on a great show
and all of the comments I got were very positive.
I can't thank the Cascade group enough for such a FABULOUS weekend! The
PEOPLE, hospitality, music, dancing, camp, food, weather, scenery, could go on
and on, were PERFECT!!! I was so impressed with everything. Thank you all for a
wonderful experience and the opportunity for me to spread my love of the dance.
I hope it was as good for you as it was for me. Keep up the great dancing!
Ps: I would like to extend an open invitation to everyone to look me up through
www.krewedewalleye.net if you
are ever in Minnesota. I would love the opportunity to reciprocate.
Congratulations on a VERY fine dance camp....
very smooth... very enjoyable...
Good music, good venue, good food, great company.
Hope you've all recovered well.
Thanks for taking this on and doing such a fine job.
It's a work of love... and much appreciated.
First of all, thanks for all the hard work of putting on a fabulous dance
camp! This was my first zydeco camp and I can't wait for it to happen next
year!. I was very surprised there wasn't more dancers! I've been to many dance
camps but this was probably the best for location, food, accommodations, and
over-all organization.
Thanks
Just wanted to report the great time at the 2008 Cascade-Zydeco Dance Camp along with the wonderful surprise I received from Teresa, my soul mate. I was so clueless with this surprise and want to thank everybody at the Dance Camp for helping Teresa pull if off. I would also like to thank Portland Sideways for being apart of my surprise and the wonderful pictures you provided during camp.
I will treasure my surprise and I'm sure all of you will also have a recall of this event. It will be retold my times over and will always be fun to remember.
Many thanks
Hi, I had such a great time at the dance camp this week-end.
Absolutely perfect. Busy practicing new moves!!! Thanks again for a great
week-end. If you are able to do it again next year, I will be there.
Take good
care.
Thanks for a great time. A very well organized, and fun filled weekend with excellent, passionate dance instruction from Michael and Flory. I'm slowly regaining use of my legs, but that's why God invented Aleve.
FANTASTIC EVENT...... Everyone made me feel right at home. That's one of the nice things about our Cajun-Zydeco crowd. No matter where we go for dancing, most of the people we meet are just nice folks. Thanks for the dances. Keep up the good work, and I hope you at least break-even with the cost.
I just got back from Cascade Zydeco Camp in Mt Hood, where Brian Jack squeezed out rock solid Z for 3 ya three days. He left us" beggin fo mo" Many good work shops were offered, One, the Whiskey River Jitterbug stance...( Feet flat, under shoulders, knees bent, arms outspread waist high, palms out, shuffle along) would be a step in gathering Leads/Follows, Ya know what I'm sayin?
Wasn't it a fun weekend? I know lots of work goes into these camps. I used to in the Sunsetters (folk dancers) in SF, and we put on a camp each year. Usually a few people get stuck with the bulk of worry and work, however everyone did a bit. Anyway, I appreciate it.
