Cascade Zydeco Board Meeting Minutes

JULY 1, 2009

Meeting called to order @6:10. In attendance board members, Patty Kadel, Jim Lalone, Jamie Morgan, John Klindt, Ryan Matthews, Susan Guz, Janine Tebeau-Jemerson & Rosemary Sickles. Minutes taken by Jim Lalone.

* Reviewed minutes from 6-03-09 board meeting. One action item to follow up on.

* Action item: Contact Craig for update on picnic. Due to Craig out of town, Jim Emery has agreed to take over as picnic committee front person. Jim Lalone will contact Jim Emery for update.

* The big thank you for the quick response to provide extra dollars for Geno was discussed. Ideas were shared about the importance of the blues fest, all agreed this event is too important not to support. John made the suggestion to meet with the Blues Fest Committee for next year. Information about Zydeco not coming to the the blues fest in the future will be looked into. Jim Lalone to meet with Dick on topic.

* Reviewed advertising for Blues Fest. Topic, the fans. Janie had a question on distribution and suggested that they be handed out both days with the focus on Friday. Also email address collected at Zydeco booth to be forward to Dick's email list. Janine or Roland to forward info to Dick.

* Patty presented the NEW Dance Camp display board, will use at Blues Fest along with other events. Wonderful job!

* Topic of discussion: Bon Ton event scheduled for Wed. July 22nd entry fee. A vote was taken and passed. Entry fee members $8.00 Non-members $10.00.

* Topic of discussion: upcoming vote for new officers, tabulating the count. Patty suggested (after review of by-laws) that (2) non-board members count the votes. Jamie and Ryan volunteered to count vote since they were not running to sit on the board. Patty to oversee and post votes on website.

* Topic of discussion: Picnic band and if KG and the Shakers were to play. Lumas to be contacted for update since Jamie had no feed back from Lumas. Jim Lalone to contact Lumas for update.

* Topic of discussion: John would like to kick around ideas to get and retain members for Cascade Zydeco. This topic has been tabled for next meeting due to the time of this meeting coming to a close. Meeting adjourned 7:15.
