I will be back in Portland this Sunday to teach two Cross-step Waltz workshops. Marion (and Rhonda) will be hosting the workshops, so you'll find all the information on her/their site- http://randomwaltz.org/index.html
Cross-step waltz is a beautiful slow waltz variation and the most creative waltz variation once you become familiar with it. We will review the basics in the first workshop and then bump up the level for some exciting moves in the second. The second workshop is for dancers comfortable with cross-step basics and more.
I would love to see you again and promise a really great time and learning experience.

PS, If 7 more register in advance, Marion promises to slave away in her kitchen making baklava. Nuts, honey and flaky crust. What not to like? We expect a sell out, register early. Feel free to forward to those you think may be interested.

The festival begins Wednesday, July 4th. & runs through Sunday, July 8th. this year. The signature blues acts have yet to be announced. However, bands playing on the zydeco stage Friday, Saturday & Sunday will include Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie, Corey Ledet Zydeco Band (he promises he will be there), and the Creole Roots Band made up of Dexter Ardoin, Jeffrey Broussard & Ed Poullard (plus Geno) which will play each set with a different lead.
We are negotiating with another premier zydeco band from Louisiana, plus Cajun Country Revival w/ Joel Savoy, Jesse Lege & others, TooLoose Cajun Band & Caleb Klauder Band. It is likely Cajun & zydeco music will spill over into Thursday, July 5th., so you will want to come for the entire festival. It will be our 25th. Anniversary, so we will pull out all the stops!
The zydeco stage is where the action is!!! There will be a dance floor. We are negotiating with a nearby hotel to secure a discount rate. Again this year, we will offer a 5-day pass, plus the discount hotel rate for a tax deductible contribution of $120 to the Oregon Food Bank. More info. later.
