Cascade Zydeco Members,
First of all your new volunteer Board of Directors would like to thank you for becoming a member and/or helping us accomplish our mission to promote Zydeco and Cajun music and dance. We greatly appreciate all who volunteer. It takes a lot of people many hours to keep the organization running and every bit you do helps. Looking to volunteer? Check with Rick Wiseman our volunteer coordinator (he’s at the door every Wednesday), as we always need help. Several bits of information to impart.
1. OLCC laws prohibit any outside bottles (including water bottles) being brought into any of our dance venues. Please know that this could cost us the use of a facility. You can buy a bottle of water for a buck at the bar and refill it at the fountain.
2. Requests for posting to our web site are to be submitted to Chere Weiss (publicity chair) for approval. Only events that are sponsored by or supported by CZ with a contact person (and number) will be posted. Email: cascadezydeco@gmail.com
3. Access to the PPAA third floor (attic) is limited to board members, instructors and committee chairs. Also, we only have permission to access our storage on nights we are renting the facility. Reminder at the request of PPAA.
4. We are excited to announce Bonnie Maze our newest member of the CZ BOD and our Treasurer. HUGE thanks to Patty Kadel who performed this service for many years.
5. Lastly we would like your ideas on what we can do to replace/change dance camp. How about an urban camp held in the city of Portland. We want to have dancers from outside our area but when less that 1/3rd of the attendees are local we recognize something is wrong. We hope one of you might have the answer. Please email Terri Jo Bonbright (President) with your suggestions at tbonbright@gmail.com. Come on now get creative. Please submit your ideas by March 1st.
